My weekend in Dallas, Texas

I had the opportunity to bring my whole family with me to another business training this month.  So cool to involve the family with my work.  This particular ‘business’ conference however is not your typical one.  Our business team coach, Dani Johnson has a weekend seminar called First Steps to Success that just blows my mind!  So much more that business techniques.  She teaches money management, personality styles and communication techniques that are helping to restore and improve relationships, families and businesses.

Here are a few pictures of our weekend….

Here is our family….I love the shirts they had for the kids!  Here is the verse on the back of the t-shirt.

Here I am with hubby, Clark.

This is just some of our Shaklee Team at the conference.  Amazing group of people!  I feel so blessed to work with such a great marketing team.

FSTS July 2012

Erin was able to share her story on stage!  Incredible story!  She inspires me.

Erin Branscom from Kansas – Prior to plugging into Dani I was working about 60 hours a week in law enforcement night shift, I was getting 4 hours of sleep a day FOR 6 YEARS, my health was a MESS, and our FAMILY LIFE WAS AWFUL, after 13 months of plugging into WE WERE ABLE TO PAY OFF $39,000 of debt, I was able to quit that job and NOW I STAY HOME with those babies. All of our kids have been through Grooming the Next Generation and Gems Homestudy Program. It has been a huge change for our family!

We got to hear Jeff Usner from Secret Millionaire speak and share his story. He is an incredibly humble man!

My name is Jeff Usner and prior to getting attending First Steps to Success and really implementing everything I have learned at First Steps to Success and at Creating A Dynasty, This was my life – 4 years ago, I was OVER $285,000 in debt, I was working long, STRESSFUL, ENDLESS HOURS, I had invested everything I had into another company, I was not seeing my wife, I didn’t have time for my kids, I actually LOST MY SON, James, and HAD A STROKE and ALMOST DIED. 4 years ago I came home from work, and FELL TO MY KNEES because I looked at the dinner table and DID NOT KNOW HOW I WAS GOING TO PUT FOOD ONTO THE TABLE. Since implementing everything that I have learned here, MY LIFE HAS JUST RADICALLY CHANGED. WE BECAME DEBT FREE in 8 MONTHS and actually created A MILLION DOLLAR INCOME within 18 MONTHS! Our marriage is richer, my relationship with our God is amazing. It is amazing how God has transformed my life, and OUR KIDS now are HONORING. Our life is totally transformed. I can’t even believe we are on a show called Secret Millionaire. It really blows me away. It WASN’T THAT LONG AGO that I was sitting in total fear and petrified about my future… not knowing a way out.

With stories like that you can see why I use everything Dani Johnson teaches!   You can get plugged in too at  Check out all of her FREE videos and mp3’s.

We have personally used Dani’s War on Debt system and have paid off over 15K in debt!!  We are debt free except for our mortgage and it is so freeing to not have that debt.  If you are serious about paying off your debt then you NEED this system.

Tips for the WAHM ~ work at home mom

I love being a work at home mom (WAHM)!  My business allows me to set my own hours around

my family’s schedule which is my first priority.  However, I actually struggled with this role a bit.

Until I set a few boundaries, I felt the need to work all the time.  So stressful and not efficient!

These are the tips I have gleaned to separate my home and work life and create a more peaceful,

efficient, and productive business.

1. Create a schedule.

And  I look at my week to determine how many hours and when I would work then block it in.

I only change it if something comes up with the kids that I need to be available for, but not if I have a

friend who wants to meet for coffee.  I do that during other hours.  I also schedule hours that are for family only.

I turn off the computer and give them my attention. This will greatly decrease the mom guilt!

2.  Determine your work space.

Some are blessed with a home office.  I am not, so the kitchen table gets transformed.

I keep a bag that I lovingly refer to as my ‘portable office’.  My most favorite place to work is at the coffee shop!

I find that if I am at home I am tempted to do other things like housework.  Going somewhere else eliminates those distractions.

3.  Keep a list of business activities that need to be done.

I keep a notebook for this because if you are like me, I remember things at strange times and then forget them.

So writing it down is key!  Then when it is ‘work time’ I know what I am supposed to be working on.

4.  Dress for success

Dressing in sweats with my hair in a messy bun daily makes me feel sloppy, sleepy and less motivated.

It really is amazing how a good hair day with cute clothes on makes a difference in how I feel and my attitude.

Try it and watch it happen for you, too!

5.  Be flexible.

As I write this, I am working.  But my kids are also on Spring Break.  Since Friday is my regular work time,

I just took the kids to an indoor jungle gym with wi-fi.

To me, this really is the best part about being a WAHM.  So cool!

These are tips that I am always working on to stay on track.

Give a shout out if you are a work-at-home mom, too.

I would love to hear any tips you have!

Looking forward to your next visit,

Business Trip to Long Beach, CA

Hi everyone!  I just got back from an energizing and encouraging business trip.

As you may know, I am a Shaklee Director.  I market health and wellness products through my blog.

I have the privilege of working with other moms who are passionate about their families and their health.

I was able to finally meet these girls on my Shaklee and blogging team.

I am on the left. Then it’s Katie, Connie and Erin. Aren’t they beautiful?

This is Erin’s son, Kameron.  He started a dog walking business to earn the money to come to the conference!

Amazing young man.  The business coach brought him on stage to share his story.  He is only 9 years old?!

I learned so much from each one and gleaned many tips on being a work at home mom.

Here are a few things I learned from the 3 day conference.

*  Personality styles.  So huge with relationships: family, friendships and business.

* “ You attract who you are.  Birds of a feather flock together.  As a man thinks, so is he.”

* “Forgiveness is a lifestyle.”

*  Communication skills.

*  “Repetition is the mother skill.”

*  The masses are always wrong. Don’t follow them.

*  “Prosper where you are planted.”

*   Create a duplicatable system.

*  Leadership development is up to the individual.

*  Learn to improvise an imperfection.

*  Practice following before you can lead.

So many great tips!  I was so pumped and encouraged from this event.

Have you been to an event that you left so encouraged by?

What did you learn?

Thanks for visiting!
